A group of photo showing a subway station nearly covered in grass in the outskirts of Chongqing municipality recently went viral on WeChat, an instant-messaging app. Caojiawan Station on Line 6, which opened two years ago, hardly sees any passenger as the station is not only barely visible, but also the path is covered in grass and mud.

The subway station is bang in the middle of wasteland, with its entrance nearly impossible to find.

A passenger, one of the few the station sees, waits for the train on May 8, 2017.

The staff members admit that they do not see many passengers.

The station has only one exit instead of the three originally planned. An elevator near the two unopened exits is yet to open.
